As a STEM Ambassador, data professional, and Trustee of Technology Books for Children, I am passionate about helping young people discover the opportunities that technology can create. Having built a career in data and technology, I have seen first-hand how digital skills can open doors, inspire confidence, and create opportunities. Every child deserves the chance to explore that world.
Founded by Beverly Clarke MBE, Technology Books for Children is a UK charity dedicated to inspiring children to see technology as fun, accessible, and relevant through the joy of reading. Working with schools across England and Wales, the charity provides technology-themed book packs, author visits, Book Ambassador programmes, and educational resources that help bring technology to life for young learners.
At a time when technology is shaping almost every aspect of our lives, access to inspiring and engaging STEM resources is more important than ever. The charity works to reduce barriers, encourage curiosity, and help children from all backgrounds develop the confidence to explore technology and digital skills.
What I particularly value about the charity is its focus on making technology approachable. Not every child needs to pursue a career in technology, but every child should have the opportunity to understand the digital world around them and feel confident engaging with it. Sometimes a single book can spark a lifelong interest and open the door to new possibilities.
As a Trustee, I am proud to support this mission and help extend its reach to even more schools and communities. If this cause resonates with you, I encourage you to learn more about the charity, share its work, or consider supporting its initiatives.
